Wedding - Chrissy and Dan

An idyllic winery setting, a warm autumnal day and two people in love are the makings of a perfect wedding.

Chrissy looked fall over gorgeous in her Mariana Hardwick gown. The beading work on her dress was immaculate. This was the kind of dress little girls dream of.

The whole wedding was what little girls dream of really. I'm going to let the photos do (most) of the talking for this wedding.

I love when clouds do that whoosh thing.



It was reallly hard to get Dan to stand still to get a nice normal photo that his mum could put on the mantle piece. I actually really appreciated that. Dan was himself from go to woe on his wedding day, which has got to be the best way to be.












And you can't beat a happy photo of newlyweds just on dusk. Makes me all kinds of happy.

'ROCK WHAT YOU'VE GOT' WORKSHOP UPDATE
My goodness I'm giddy with the response. I was worried that I would be teaching the workshop to my dog, but I've been saved. There are still places left for people who'd like to attend. I'd love to have you along so just get in touch and I'll send you some more information meaghan@meaghancook.com

Announcing: PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP!

I was always a better basketball coach than I was a player. I was always better at editing other people's stories when I was a journalist than I was at writing my own. When I did my teaching degree I was told I was a natural. So I took all of that into consideration when dreaming up photography workshops.

I've already been teaching quite a few aspiring photographers. Some have come with me to weddings, some have been emailing me with questions, some come over and have coffee and ask me all about it. It's all been really rewarding for me. I'm loving seeing people grow in their confidence with their photos. I got an email today that read 'I've got it!' and I beamed. I took all this into consideration too when dreaming up photography workshops.

I also know how hard it is to find the answers to photography questions. Most of my answers have come from other photographers who were kind enough to indulge me. Being self-taught, I know how hard it is to have a problem, not know the answer, and to spend hours trawling the internet for the answer only to come up with conflicting information. When teaching myself I was always wishing there was one simple way to get the information I needed to get me on the photography road. So I considered this also when dreaming up photography workshops.

Now all that dreaming is finally coming true as I am proud to announce my first photography workshop.



when: SUNDAY 13TH JUNE 2010
time: 9am - 5pm
where: my home studio in OCEAN GROVE

Places are limited to 8, and I've already got people on the waiting list.

The workshop is aimed at people who have digital SLR's and want to learn how to get the best out of them. I'm going to be teaching all the techniques I use every time I take a photograph.

Amoung the chaos, there was Easter

I really debated putting these photos onto the blog. Easter was so long ago, and the point of a blog is to be relevant and up to date. Photos from Easter are neither relevant nor up to date. To make it worse, the photos were from a few days before easter. Even more out of date!

But I do love the photos, so I'm going to inflict them on you regardless of relevance.



Usually at Easter we will dye eggs, but there was no way Amba was letting food dye onto the new bench tops. Not when we'd been only living there a few days. He made the right call because I'm incredibly clumsy and would have undoubtedly ended up with a stained kitchen.

So instead I boiled some eggs, got the glue out and the kids stuck coloured paper to them. They then put them into decorative patty pan cases which were doubling as nests for the purposes of the activity.



I love easter daisy. And Ryan's face when he's concentrating.





The grandparents loved getting their little present on easter Sunday. Some of the eggs were a little cracked, and there had been a few casualties that had to go in the compost by then, but all in all they were still lovely.

And very tempting for little fingers.
