Ryan says ...

... happy easter!

We nearly didn't have easter. Okay, before you panic, it was going to be our choice. We've got little ones who wouldn't know if it was Easter, Christmas or their birthday. We thought that just maybe we might use this to our advantage to skip the extravagance of Easter. Save the chocolate-fuelled hyperactivity for another year.

But then we re-considered. Easter's not about chocolate. We're not religious, so for us it isn't even about that. We decided it's about family. Spending time together on a special day, that's different from all the other Sundays in the year.

So we re-instated easter and Miles and Ryan got up to a chocolate bonanza and home made pancakes. No easter egg hunt - dog and rabbit ruled that one out for us. But it was still an absolute hoot.

So while Ryan and Miles didn't understand that it was easter, they did understand that it was a special day.
