The things holidays are made of

I'm officially back in the office today. I've got my cup of tea beside me, and I'm still in my pyjamas, naturally.

I had a lovely break, really I did. I still had photo shoots on, but took a break from the admin side of the business. This meant I was able to spend long days at the beach, read stories to the kids in the afternoon sunlight that streams in our front window, and attempt a semi-successful trip to Ikea along with thousands of other people.

It also meant the ducks at our park were well fed.

Feeding the ducks would have to be one of Ryan's favourite passtimes. Miles is pretty partial to it too, but he doesn't jump up and down, clap his hands and 'yeah ducks!'.

The weather has been doing this ...

... so we spent most of our break near some sort of water.

Miles even partook in a spot of fishing.

It's been great having Amba around. It's no secret that I get a little sick of endless moulding of playdough, swimming in the toddler pool and pushing swings. So having him around to also do all these things with the kids and I has been lovely.

'Amba, let me take your photo.'

'Sure, just hold on a tick ... okay, ready."

So during my holidays there has been much tomfoolery and antics. No awesome vacation away, no road trips or camping adventures. Just hanging about, relaxing, being ourselves.

Hope you all are enjoying your summer (and those of you in the UK are surviving that cold snap). I'm off to find the sunscreen, my hat, and my spade and take the kids to the beach. Gee, I wasn't back in the office long.
